Since the beginning of our association with Gulf for Good back in 2010, we have continued to support their brilliant causes and initiatives to help children in need across the world. Our founder, Patrick Van Ijzendoorn has recently become an ambassador for Gulf for Good to further support their causes, and has also taken part in the most recent Gulf for Good Cycle the Eastern Emirates Challenge! (License number: 3375)
Gulf For Good’s Cycle the Eastern Emirates Challenge empowers people to cycle through the Emirates while helping to fundraise to support education for refugee children across the West Bank, East Jerusalem, Gaza, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, enrolled with the United Nations Relief & Works Agency, as well as Chichuchas Wasi Girl’s School in Peru. Our founder Patrick joined them on their most recent expedition which saw and all the other participants collectively raise AED 36,500 for these charities – both of which contribute significantly towards supporting children’s education across the world.
Gulf for Good support the UNRWA Back to Learning initiative which focuses on refugee children going back to school. Over half a million girls and boys are enrolled in 711 UNRWA schools in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Gaza, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, where they receive quality education including flagship classes on Human Rights, Conflict Resolution and Tolerance.
They also work to support the Chicuchas Wasi – a comprehensive primary school for impoverished indigenous girls who attend free of charge. There are over 120 students from 4-12 years old. Cusco faces a lot of rain and sometimes extreme weather and the school currently does not have an indoor facility larger than a classroom for events, sports, theatre presentations, or otherwise. This project is to build a dry multipurpose room for these activities.
So why not take part in the next cycling challenge, experience all that the UAE has to offer as your cycle through varying terrain, and take part in a unique adventure to help change the lives of children in need and yours.
