Feeling sociable and spirited?
Every year for twenty years, the world-renowned colour institute Pantone has announced what it believes to be the Colour of the Year. Its analysts scour through trends in fashion, entertainment, interior design, art and travel to come up with a colour that it believes defines our mind-set and design style in the coming year. 2018 was all about the deep rich hue of Ultra Violet, before that we were all into the forestry magic of Greenery and… drumroll please… 2019’s trendy tone is… Living Coral.

The colour institute describes this fun shade as ‘symbolising our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits…and embodies our desire for playful expression.’ The burning question is how we can incorporate this beautiful shade of orangey pink into our homes. The answer lies in how much you like it. Painting feature walls with it would add an instant injection of drama into any space, and teamed with softer, paler pinks, white or grey would make an elegant space.

Of course, if you’re feeling brave, be inspired by this hue’s natural habitat of the ocean, by using equal amounts of coral and turquoise, which means that you’d be as on-trend as it’s possible to be.
